Learning speed reading is an important skill for both our personal and work related reading. In a given time frame we are able to read more words than we could before. This is also known as scan reading.

It will probably come as no surprise that our fast paced world has greatly increased the reading demands we face, and we need to improve the rate at which we read in order to obtain all the essential information. This ability to read more quickly must be learned, since we are taught early on to read words out loud.

Speed reading software has been developed to meet these new learning demands. Quality software is available that has made learning speed reading interesting and even exciting. If your mind is used to hearing the words spoken (even in your head) first, it can be difficult to learn to scan documents quickly.
