E-Rozgaar Program is a flagship project of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Youth Affairs & Sports Department, Government of Punjab.
Youth Affairs & Sports Department, Government of Punjab,, is the sponsoring body of this flagship project while PITB is executing body.
The Flagship project was initiated in March 2017 with an aim to provide free of cost training in digital skills and freelancing to the educated youth of Punjab.

Aim of e – Rozgaar
This flagship initiative was started in March 2017 with the objective to offer critical ICT and soft skills training in digital-based freelancing learning to a large number of unemployed educated youths of the Punjab province.
Through this initiative, the Government intended to make them able to earn online and increase the inflow of foreign exchange along with the aim to low the poverty rate of the educated and young generation of the country in this age of unemployment.
Training Centers of e – Rozgaar
The initial target of this project was to create 45 training centers, including 5 female dedicated centers in 36 districts of Punjab to produce approximately 15,000 freelancers per year.
The state-of-the-art training centers are situated in public sector universities across the province where all the facilities regarding the training of freelancing (digital skills) are available without any interruption.

Each candidate willing to join e-Rozgaar has to fulfill the following criteria to join this Flagship Training Program.
- 16 years of education
- Punjab Domicile / CNIC
- Age less than or equal to 35 years
- Unemployed.

However, including above-mentioned courses of e-Rozgaar, Freelancing is taught in all enablers courses to the trainees so that trainees can setting them up on reputed platforms for monetization and earn through their skills.
Application Procedure
The applications are invited through advertisements in print and social media every 3 months. The application process is very simple, candidates just have to go to the e-Rozgaar website and fill out an online application form, and then attempt a short MCQs-based 30-minute-long test.
All the applications received then go through a screening process and selected candidates are then invited to get their documents verified. Training classes are started within the week of document verification.

Objectives of the e-Rozgaar (Freelance Courses)
In the backdrop of soaring unemployment and financial challenges, it has become a paramount duty of the government to steer the educated youth of the province in the right direction.
Hence, Punjab Information Technology Board and Youth Affairs and Sports Department.
Both departments have decided to establish e-Rozgaar centers in most of the districts of Punjab to provide training to budding freelancers and enhance their professional capabilities.
Through this initiative Government of the Punjab will assist the youth in earning sustainable income. One of the major objectives of this project is to provide training opportunities to youth for self-employment using internet-based freelancing.
This wise movement by Government of the Punjab will expedite the freelancing skills of around 15,000 people in a year which will eventually help them to earn an honorable living.
This program is not just a training program but a revolution that will help generate employment and prepare Pakistan to run in the race of future of work around the world.
